Some of you might already know that I'm spending the week in Springfield, MO, to accompany my wife on some training she's going through for Perkins Restaurant. Thanks to the web based nature of my job, I'll just be setting up shop in our hotel room and using the wireless internet access to work remotely. Mucho Thanks to Interworks, Inc. for allowing me that priviledge. We left Stillwater today around 3:30 and had a pretty uneventful trip. About the only sighting of note was a Saleen Mustang near the BOK center in Tulsa, OK. Not only was it a sweet Saleen edition S281, it was decked out in police black and while with a light bar on top. The only thing that makes me suspect that it WASN'T a real police car is that there was no city badge, shield, or name anywhere on the car. I would expect it to at least say "Police" somewhere. I snapped a pic with my iPhone sitting on top of the steering wheel. Unfortunately, I just happened to catch it under an overpass. The dimly lit shadows only give you about as much detail as those pictures of bigfoot crossing a creek from back in the day. Still, it was an exciting thing to see.We rolled into Springfield around 7:30pm and checked into our hotel. We're staying at the Oasis Ramada, just off exit 80 on I-44. Not a bad place at all. We have the usual amenities: mini fridge, office chair, wireless internet. Plus there's a pretty sweet sliding glass door and balcony. Perfect for Bridget to sit outside and enjoy a smoke break. We were unpacked in time to watch True Blood, which is something I was concerned we'd miss. After our show, we headed down the street to find the Perkins that Bridget needs to be at tomorrow morning at 8am. It's about 8 miles away. On the way back home we grabbed a quick bite at a Subway, and then came home and got ready for bed. Bridget crashed out immediately, but I wanted to get this post on my site before I closed my eyes. I brought my XBOX 360 so I could watch Netflix, so I spent a minute setting that up. I almost panicked thinking that the wireless adapter for my 360 wouldn't work with the hotel's access point login screen. But some quick Googling showed me how to use a network cable between the 360 and my laptop to share the wireless connection from my laptop. It was actually pretty painless to setup, and I'm looking forward to an episode of Invader Zim before I'm off to sleep.I'm going to try and snap a few pics of the hotel tomorrow when I'm not working. Check back for updates later in the week:)
