Despite the fact that I spent most of the week in our hotel room working off of their wireless internet access, it was actually a pretty peaceful and relaxing week for me. Every day pretty much followed the same pattern.Bridget and I would head down to the hotel breakfast, enjoy some eggs and bacon, and then we'd head back to the room so she could get ready for work. I'd drive her to Perkins, and then head back to the hotel room. I'd start a new cup of coffee, and get started on my day. We bought some sandwich stuff from Wal-Mart, so I was set in terms of food.On Monday, I took an hour lunch break to enjoy the outdoor pool at the hotel. The water seemed a bit cold, but the sun was hot and it felt good just to lay there for a while. I think I drifted off to sleep. Later in the week it was really too cool outside to enjoy either, so I didn't break for lunch. In the early evening I'd run pick Bridget up from work and we ate something different pretty much every night. In order: Subway, Taco Bell, Fire and Ice, Los Vaqueros, and Cracker Barrell. The steak at Fire and Ice was absolutely amazing. Thanks to Suzanne for making that recommendation. Los Vaqueros was really very good as well, and not very expensive at all. They had great guacamole. And of course, I never miss an opportunity to have the hash brown casserole at Cracker Barrell. The relaxed atmosphere during the week really helped me knock out some design projects. I've been doing alot of coding lately, so it was nice to get back into a creative mode and really put together some nice stuff. On Friday, I had to close up shop early to check out of the hotel room. I packed the car up and spent about an hour checking out the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield. I had thought the OKC Bass Pro was large, but it's pretty much a bait stand compared to the Springfield location. Every inch has something interesting to see. I could have spent about 3 hours just walking around and taking pictures of everything, but I knew Bridget was waiting on me.We hit the road home around 5pm and pulled in the driveway around 9pm. Its always a bit sad when a good road trip is over, but I was looking forward to seeing my puppies and sleeping in my own bed. Thank you Springfield, you were hospitable and pleasantly enjoyable.
